    JVC service or questions

To be real honest, I am not a programming guru but I do know you can download manuals from JVC.com in the U.S. Where are you located? I believe if you go online to JVC.com and look under customer support > user manuals, you can get the manual that way. Hope this helps.

    JVC service or questions

Unfortunately that is a foreign camcorder and I cannot order it on the U.S. Market. That manual is in the European market for JVC. You may be able to contact JVC.com (international) and see if it is available through another source.

    JVC service or questions

Since I have not seen the on-line info..I guess it would be unfair for me to comment further. I do know however that I have yet to see any certain model TV come in to Houston with the problems you speak of nor seen any memo's of such problems for a series of models. Unfortunately we do not have a direct service facility in the San Diego area. I can check for the closest place if you provide your zip code.

Re: Re: JVC service or questions

You can contact our customer relations dept at (800) 252-5722. I know of no TV defect issues on any one model in my time here in Houston Service. Although it may seem to be a problem on line...you need to understand that millions of TV's are sold and 10 people writing with a similar problem may seem like alot but really is not in the complete scheme of things. You are speaking of a power problem. That can come from several sources and it would be impossible to say for sure what caused it or where it is occuring within the unit without checking it out first. We cannot diagnose over the phone. If the TV was part of a defect issue I doubt it would have lasted 4-5 years considering the power the TV stores even when not on or being used. Something as small as a capacitor can be the problem or as much as the power supply..not to mention anything in between. You did not say where you were but if you were in Houston we would charge an eval fee of $50/tax to look at it. Most TV repairs run approx $85-$120 average...only more on rare occasions. I am sorry if you are looking for details on what is wrong, but I doubt any service center for any company could give that info to you over the phone without looking at it. It would be like a doctor diagnosing over the phone if you have a rash. Where are you located?

Where are you located and what is your zip code? Also, are you under any warranty at this time.

    JVC error codes assistance

That I cannot answer as to why your face plate won't respond when you try to put the CD in. What model do you have and when did you purchase it? I am on vacation as of tomorrow afternoon 2/10/04 and will be back 2/16/04. You can e-mail me or if you wish to contact my office call (713) 935-9331 x 100 and speak to Javis regarding your stereo.

    Re: JVC error codes assistance

You could possibly be having a mechanism (tape basket problem) or drum head/motor problem. It is hard to say until it is looked at. A minimum repair could run $230ish. Your camcorder is a 97/98 model. If you write me at work...I can give you some more info on new camcorders. You can purchase a new digital camcorder starting about $279.00 comperable to yours. It may be in your best interest to invest in a newer updated product than invest in this one that has limited technology. E-mail me at Ssample@jvc.com and I will get some specifics for you.

    Re: Re: JVC repair assistance

It is impossible to just recommend a part unless we look at the unit ourselves to see what is working or not working properly internally. Unless the VCR is an expensive piece, we usually do not encourage repair because you can purchase them so inexpensively these days. I am not familiar with the model you note, so I do not know how old it is or how much it was to purchase. How old is it and where are you located?
