need microphone and pre-amp for home studio

Hello, I have $700-1000 to spend on my home studio. I want to be able to record quality vocals and acoustic guitar at home into my ProTools / Digi 001 system (Focusrite pre-amps). Can someone suggest what kind of microphone(s) I should get? I assume I need to get some sort of vocal pre-amp, too. What's the best I can do for that price range? Thanks for your advice! --Rich
