JVC VCR going to standby, How do I get the emergency code that's causing this?

My JVC VCR is going back to standby mode a few seconds after you switched it on. A tape loaded completely but then the VCR is also going to standby. With the emergency code you can probably see what is causing this problem but I cannot get the code up my display.
