problem capturing footage to FCP from Sony DSR PD-100a (NTSC camera playing back a PAL tape). Plays fine on the LCD screen

I am having a problem capturing some footage from my Sony DSR PD-100a (NTSC). It is an NTSC camera and I am playing back a PAL tape which plays fine on the LCD screen but doesn't seem to come up when I try to capture on FCP - I tried different settings, but I don't get anything on the screen whereas my "normal" NTSC tapes all give me a picture on the computer. Any ideas?
