Canon has extended XL1s rebate twice already so who knows how much time we'll have to wait for XL2. I waited no more and invested in JVC 5000. It was worth it! For a grand more, I got sooo much better camera with professional, manual lens. I you can not afford camera for 5K, go for Sony 2100 - it's beautiful piece of equipment. Don't worry about 24p - it's just a buzzword. All the editing and post will actually be done in 60i or 30p and the last step (for very few of us) will be conversion or transfer to 24p.
