defective flyback transformer

Sony suddenly died,did some research,ironically Sony sells a repair kit for this power supply failures. repaired horiz output tran,both voltage regulators and fuseable res,worked for about 2 days,again replaced same damaged parts,this time reflowed all related solder connections including the flyback trans,worked for less than 2 day.I suspect what i have read to be true,Sony has a defective flyback in many of there tv's built within this time period.Will attempt to ring the flyback before going any further,am not to familiar with this procedure,any suggestions,or thought on other parts that could cause this failure?
