I have the same problem with the camera How can I clear the code and get use of the camera again?

  My wife\'s dscp50 gets the e6110 warning. There is a focus problem. Is there a solution apart from giving Sony lots of money? Thanks Eric.

  Ohmigod, I bow down to the genius who came up with the Smack Solution! As an eBay seller, I make my living with my old DSC-P50, so I was horrified last night when it took a header onto the hardwood floor. (That's what I get for listing at 3 am!) When I picked it up, it was flashing the dreaded E:61 message and focus didn't work.
  
  Found this thread this morning and took your advice. Just went and gave it two smart smacks--hitting the lens barrel (cover on, camera off) into the palm of my hand. Presto! We're back in business!
