Sony Mavica FD 75 Problem

FD75 Mavica Problem Writing To Disk?

I have a Sony Mavica FD75 and I love the camera for what I use it for. The problem is that sometimes when trying to bring the images up on the computer they are apparently corrupted. When this happens the floppy drive will take a long time to read then the computer will give me an error message "not a valid picture file". This appears pretty random, with 2 out of 5 pictures on the floppy giving the error message or 0 out of 5 giving the message. I may take 30 shots and get none, or take 10 and get 6. The format is set for JPEG Fine and it makes no difference what program I am using to view the files. When looking at the properties of the files, they all appeart to be about the same size, good or bad. I have been in the habit of just throwing away the floppy when this happens, but I am not convinced that the floppy is the problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks....gary
