Panasonic F61 diagnostic code needed

I have a 1 year old panasonic stero system SA-Ak500.. One day it shut off in mid cd and flashed F61 msg. when i try to turn it on turns itself off and flashes the same message. anyone have a clue what this means?.. panasonic refused to give me any help. there was a slight burnt smell. I checked the fuse and the capacitors and found nothing wrong.. any help would be greatly appreciated. r.green

Hello I also have the same problem have had this for like 10 years now and its been in loft for 5 years. But think I used to play it loud with other speakers then it started doing this so must of been why I stuck it up. When I turn this on I have red light but display just says F61. Is this worth getting fixed? How much will it cost? I remember the HIFI used to really pump back in the day. Now I have Pioneer VSX 817 system.

Hi did you find the service manual?

a lot of people have been having this issue and thought id say what is in the manual.... check and correct the speaker connections. if this does not fix the problem then there is a power supply problem, contact your dealer. i picked up a sa-ak310 from the tip, fixed it and got a manual online. that wasnt my issue but thats what the manual says

Yeah I am working on a panasonic SA-AK 500 and a panasonic SA-HT67 home theater sound system in my electronics class and i downloaded a manual for the sa-ht67 and it says that is a power supply problem but on the sa-ak 500 we narrowed it down to the removable chip in that has 2 sides and one side is RAM. p.s. wont work on it till next fri day again

I've had this unit for 4 years. It just went out with the F61 Code. Did anyone find any answers? Did anyone take theirs to a dealer to get fixed? Thanks

I have been having the same problems with my Stereo system for the past couple of months. It seems to be working some of the time but then out of the blue it just shuts down and the cd opener will nope open or close when it says it is. I have been looking on the internet and it says that there is a problem that you have to take the system to a engineer to fix. I would say if you didnt pay alot of it, then it would just be better to go get a new system. Goodluck!
