HomeForensically speaking, can digital video recorded on miniDV tape be unerased if new video is recorded over what was originally recorded? I got pulled over by Alabama police and given a ticket for an "obstructed windshield" because the police at this car wreck observed me videotaping the 10 cop cars all with their bright blue lights flashing at dusk at the scene of a car wreck. I wanted to catch this on video tape so I stopped in the median and used my Panasonic miniDV Camcorder to film about 10 secs of their police lights flashing and they pulled me over and gave me a ticket. I have to appear in court TOMORROW morning and I accidentally recorded over the 10 secs of video tape showing the police lights. Is there any way to UNDELETE the overlaying video to recover the original video that got taped over? I know its digital data and you can unerase or undelete some digital data from a computer hard drive. Can this be done with miniDV video tape?

Yes of course! You can take an eraser from a pencil and carefully erase only the top layer of the tape exposing the undelayer where the old material is. You can also wake up your dead dog by shoving your finger up his ass!!! a home video was taped over in the VCR and I was wondering if there was a way to recover to old footage or if there is a place I could send it that specializes in it. |
