have you ever known a dvd to take 30 hrs to burn?

I first used movie maker to edit my film from mini dv to mswmm. when i originally tried to save the movie as avi my computer crashed twice. So instead i chose PAL as apparently this is nearly as good. I then made a few adjustments in adobe premier v1.0 ( as i realised you can only edit and make crappy films with movie maker) adding 6 chapters with a front page. My computer is currently burning the dvd. When i set it early this morning it said i have 30 hrs to go!! 30 hours?? how can it take so long. My movie is 2hours 3 mins long. fair enough there might be some converting to do from pal but i'd never imagined anything on a computer could take so long. i only pray there isnt a power cut today.
