DISK READ ERROR

Hi all, this is to all you who have a message on your PS2 saying 'DISK READ ERROR'. I’ve had this problem before and nearly ended up throwing my PS2 out of my window just in front of a moving car for satisfaction! The disk read error message usually comes up when your PS2's 'lens' (the lens that reads the disk) is all gogged up with dust and sh!t or needs adjusting. I will try and help all of you to resolve this problem by conducting both tasks, this takes about 20mins. 1. Un-screw the black case of the ps2 BUT be careful when taking the top case off as this has a silver ribbon connected to it that connects from the motherboard to the power buttons, eject and reset. If you dislodge this then contacts me via email, just click on my name to obtain my email address. 2. Un-screw the CD cover (on the right), you will see the lens that reads the disks. If you get a q-tip n dab it with some alcohol then clean the lens. 3. There is a white gog behind the lens, if you plug your power socket n scart lead back on the PS2 and turn the gog clockwise about a quarter of a turn then turn on the PS2, n see if that work if not then just repeat the process of turning the gog slightly until it works (this adjust the lens's read height moving it slightly closer to the disk, making it easier to read). I would be grateful if you lot would give me some feed back and if this didn’t work for you then just email me and we will take some more drastic measures. Predator
