Wireless output to camera input

line level output into mic level input

I have a Sony UWP-C1 wireless mic setup for my Sony VX2100 camera. I have a recording situation where, in order to maintain mobility we would like to use a line output from a mixer into the transmitter mic input, which will in turn transmit the sound to my wireless receiver on camera. How, if at all, will the audio be affected by this setup? And is it practical to do this? I know line level is not as hot as mic level so will I be picking up too much noise by boosting level, or will I even be able to get enough level on the recording? I would have tested the setup but didn't want to connect stuff without knowing of possible damage to equipment.
