I-Pod making a buzzing noise

My I-Pod is making this buzzing noise anytime I plug it into my computer. It will say do not dissconnect and will make a buzzing noise. Then the computer freezes for a couple of seconds. Does anyone else have this problem ? and does anyone know how to fix it ? Thank you
