Help on ejecting tape What's the best brand of tape not to clog

Ever since we got our JVC BR DV 600U the tape has clogged easily. At least once an hour of play. Now it has only 116 hours and a tape jammed. After removing via removing the cover and being very careful, it will load a tape but won't eject. Is there a menu code for manual eject like sony has on their beta vtrs or any other ideas.
