Not able to shoot image with Sony Cybershot DSC-P72.

I have been using Sony Cybershot DSC-P72 from past 2 years. Recently, I have started facing a problem with the camera. The problem is that, the camera does not record image in both the modes, still image and movie. Also, I do not see image in LCD. While troubleshooting, I found that, - I can see the image being focused in the view finder. I can also zoom in and zoom out the focused image. - The camera records voice in both the modes, still image with voice enabled and movie mode. That means, the stick has enough space and is not locked. - The LCD screen is working. It also shows photos, which were taken before I started facing this problem. Also, It shows all the menu options. - Flash level is set to "low". I highly appreciate any help in troubleshooting this problem.
