camcorder does not record any image (shows only blur lines) but playback works fine.

GRD30US miniDV camcorder was working fine. But it developed a strange problem. When I put it in record mode the LCD displays only blur lines and so does the view finder. It records only these blur lines On playback of a previously recorded tape LCD displays images fine. Please suggest as to how to proceed with this problem.
