Blue screen on playback

Jvc dvl has a blue screen when we try to watch to a tape threw the tv. we have audio. had the unit in for factory service service they say its ok to try a new video cable we did that to we tryed jvc tapes still no luck we have used maxcell tapes since day one. and they always worked before unit does not display a error code got me totally baffled Oh yeah our daughter has one that does the exact same thing any imput will help
