DR-MV1S

MARY ALBURTUS Posted Jul 14, 2005

I DON'T HAVE ONE AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER, I BELIEVE YOU SHOULDL LISTEN MORE CAREFULLY TO THE CONSUMER AND THEIR PROBLEMS WITH YOUR PRODUCTS.

I HAVE A DVD VIDEO RECORDER & VIDEO CASSETTE RECORDER (MODEL DR-V1SU SERIAL NO 10973596). I PURCHASED THIS IN NOVEMBER OF LAST YEAR FROM BEST BUY. THINGS WERE FINE UNTIL ABOUT A MONTH AGO WHEN I CONTINUALLY GET THE MESSAGE "LOADING" WITH THE BLUE LIGHT FLASHING. WHEN THIS OCCURS, I CANNOT USE ANYTHING CONNECTED WITH THIS SYSTEM (IE: TV OR SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM). SOMETIMES IT GOES BACK ON AFTER MESSING WITH THE PLUGS AND THE ON/OFF BUTTON BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT JUST HAPPENS AGAIN AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS. IN FACT, MY HUSBAND TOLD ME TONIGHT THAT IT ACTUALLY CAME ON BY ITSELF AND BEGAN FLASHING THE "LOADING" MESSAGE. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT THIS MEANS AND IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO CORRECT THIS SITUATION? I'M READY TO THROW THIS OUT THE WINDOW - I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN JVC AT THIS TIME.

I believe you may be losing AC Power to your JVC DVD/VCR and that what's causing it to start on it's own. Whenever you connect the Power Cord to an AC Outlet, the clock and tuner channels will be set automatically. "LOADING" blinks on the front display panel when the AC plug of the power cord is connected to an AC Outlet and it takes approxiamately 50 seconds for the unit to be turned on. If you are intermittently losing AC power to the unit this "LOADING" symptom will reoccur as the unit tries to reset itself. Try the unit in another AC outlet or there may actually be a problem with the power cord of the unit itself or a poor connection inside the unit. I do not work for JVC but it is recommended to connect the antenna cable to the unit before plugging it in. The clock and tuner channels are set automatically by data transmitted from one of the regular TV braodcast channels. If you use a cable box the clcok and tuner channels will have to be set manually. Hope this helps, Eric
