PS2 Reading Problems

Adrian Posted Jul 22, 2005

Daniel Miller could you send me that that fix-it guide. My ps2 is making a grinding noise and can't seem to read my games. These aren't blue disks, there store bought games. Please, help me fix this problem right away.

It gets as far as the screen that shows the memory card image and when you wait for the disc image to appear the wurring and grinding noise starts and never stops. The screen never gets past that point. I need your help.

You have to take the top of the Playstation completely off, and take off the guard protecting the disk. Then, you must leave this off and plug in the Playstation and push eject. Now, leaving the disk drive open, turn the power off. You should now see a white circular object. This adjusts the level of the lense of the laser. Turn CLOCKWISE until the laser hits its lowest point. Then put a cd in the drive and plug the system back up. You will need to check and see if it reads your disks. If not turn the power off and adjust the leveler again spinning it only CLOCKWISE. Once you have found the sweetspot, you should put the entire Playstation back together. And there you have it, it will play the disks of any kind. Except of course, computer disks. Brandon
