RCA Newvicon pin out

Barney Posted Jul 23, 2005

If you have the camera and no adapter and want to use it with "modern" RCA yellow video, white audio type connectors to plug into your TV or VCR or DVD... read on. And RCA basically will tell you to get lost if you ask them.

The secret lies in the 10 pin connector on the camera. If you look at the connector you may see the pin numbers. Starting at top left is pin 1, then going counter clockwise 2,3,4,5,6,7, and 8 at the top right. The top centre pin is 9 and the bottom centre pin is 10. Now all you have to do is wire the pins to your connectors and you're good as gold. Pin 1 Video out - That's the centre pin on the yellow video connector Pin 2 Video ground - That's the shield on the same yellow connector Pin 7 Audio out - the centre pin on the white audio connector Pin 8 Audio ground - the outer shield on the same connector Pin 9 Power Ground - negative to you're 12volt adapter or power supply Pin 10 Power +12V - positive to the same The other pins if you want to use are as follows. Pin 3 serial data Pin 4 tally & clock - reset in Pin 5 audio out right - standby out Pin 6 pause
