help..computer troubles

Hi I have a sony vaio PCG-v505BX. I turned it on and it just started beeping like crazy so I turned it off right away. Does anyone know why this would be happening? I think it may have gotten a little wet sitting on my desk. If it's not that then I have no idea because it has never done this before. I would appreciate anyone's advice on this matter....thanks.
