when power button is pressed, light turns green for 2 seconds then turns red. no noise of spinning motor. happens on all forms of media.

i don't get it. it doesn't matter what kind of cd,dvd,game i put in. power button is pressed green light comes on for maybe two seconds then the red light comes back.i have tried disconecting the power and plugging the unit back in, no luck.
