GR-D72U problems
Donna - 14th Aug 2005 0:32
My camera thinks the lens cap is on.
I was going to record some video today, but there was no video in the LCD or the viewfinder. I didn't use the LCD and the viewfinder at the same time, neither. When I push the record button and record, it says it's recording. When I play it back, you can hear the recording but still can't see anything. The camera displays that the lens cap is on but it's not. Is this a simple setting that may have accidentally been changed or do I need to take it in for repair? Thanks for any helpful info.

Did you ever get a fix for this problem. I have the same camera, and the same problem.

I have had 3 people with the same identical camera with the same identical problem. I got mine fixed because I hated the idea of throwing it away. When it quit, we had very little record time on it and already had over $500 into it with accessories we had bought for it. An electronics shop wanted $300 to fix it. My husband said if I just order the part for it from JVC, he would pull it apart and fix it. So that's what I did. It works beautifully now. I really think that JVC put bad CCD's in alot of these cameras. Email me if you want to know how we fixed it.

Yes, I did get my camera fixed, but not by someone that wanted $300 to fix it. It works beautifully, again. Email me if you would like to know how we fixed it.
