spilt juice on handycam :(

P Posted Aug 23, 2005

a juice can accidentally leaked in my bag which contained my sony handycam (DCR TRV 740E) too. I cleaned it with tissue, and suddenly remembered that the casette is inside. To take it out, I pressed 'eject' on an impulse only to realise that there wa

s a whirring sound, the tape didnt eject. so i quickly shut the lid, after which i heard a sound which the cam normally makes when ejecting a tape. only now the lid was already on it, so it couldnt eject the tape. Now I am not able to pull off the lid either. I dont want to force it open. not to mention the added misery of juice all over handycam. I still havent switched it on (except for the brief moment when the battery did get used in off mode to eject the tape) and am waiting for it to dry up.Someone please help me! Please tell me what to do to firstly get the tape out and secondly to avoid damage to the cam because of spilt orange juice. it was all over the lens as well. Is there anyway i can clean it without harming anything? The battery and memory stick looked dry. the lcd is dry. a juice can accidentally leaked in my bag which contained my sony handycam (DCR TRV 740E) too.
