JVC tv blocked...

The tv we have is working except for when the picure comes on. It seems like a video block but the parental controls and home sitting controls on not on. I thought it may be on a second audio channel but cannot find a way to turn on (or off) this setting if it is available. Text areas can be read but we the movie or show begins there is a square black box that appears. If you fast forward a connected dvd the picture is clear until you press play. Please help//// I do not know the model nmber/
