same lens cap error, I am shipping mine out tomorrow. I will update when I get it back... Just my luck, I bought a new Canon ZR700 today before I saw this. If this thing gets fixed for free, minus shipping of course, I'll will definatley respect JVC.

I already have the same trouble, I zoom in at max then zoom out and image arrive. But I have bigger one, the sound cutting when recording and the playback is ok when playing and old recording before the problem.

dear sir, your camera most probably ccd will become failure. almost all cameras of this model get ccd complaint. the only solution replace ccd. there is a chance to get repeat the same complaint. it is manufacturing defect.

Sony has the same problem with no image on their camcorders too. I heard the part JVC is replacing for the Lens Cap message under warranty is a Sony part!!! Go figure!! If you check out forums for Sony's digital camcorders they are fixing their customers camera's for free too! My friend told me the part they replaced was actually a Sony part. It is funny that a Sony part is making JVC look bad. I am sure JVC is not happy about it.

Check out what I found on JVC.com at their support site. They are fixing the Lens Cap error for free. go to link and check out factory shops to send it to. cut and past the link to your browser or go to jvc.com's service/support screen on customer notifications. http://www.jvc.com/support/notification/index.jsp?pageID=2
