I happened to notice your email and as it turns out I was just on the phone with my parents who are experiencing the same problem and it just happened this last week. Their's was purchased in 1998 and this is the first time of any problems. Did you happen to hear from anyone about a possible cause or solution? Seems like there are many people experiencing the same problem, sound but not picture and flashing standby light. Thanks for any advice you could provide. Regards, Karen
