Holy moly! I my KV-27V40 just went dead a few minutes ago. I dug out my manual and it says that the blinking red light means it needs service. So I search on the web to see if there are any clues and find this post regarding 7 yr. old Sonys' like mine. I then look at my receipt and I am reminded that I bought it in Dec 1998. That's 7 years ago! I smell a conspiracy...
