I have sent my camera to local representative service of Sony Brasil in Rio de Janeiro. They´ve sent my camera to Sony-São Paulo (another state of Brazil)and São Paulo imported the CCD with the whole set of Lens from USA and assembled it again in my camera that was sent back to the representative service of Sony in my city, where I took it. Don´t think Sony is a wonderfull company that has done everything free of charge because they love their customers and they know very well their reponsabilities. Do not belive in Santa Claus. This recall just happenned because of me and a group of 20 people with the same problem all over the world with F-717 (that has a project problem in CCD). Sony knew it but refused to perform a recall. In my first contact to Sony they´ve charged me over US$600,00 to repair the camera informing me that nothing more could be done. I have organized with some other guys a international Site with victims of Sony F717 (CCD problem)all over the world (India, Australia, USA, Singaphore, Brazil, Pakistan, Germany etc..) I have almost 100 e-mails until now from everywhere all over the world. Just after this, Sony asked us to take it (the site) out from net because they would like negotiate a Recall. That was what we have done. If you are interested in some more technical information please send a e-mail to f717failure@hotmail.com .I will send you a complete report that I sent to Sony 6 months ago (USA, BRazil, Japan and Carl Zeiss- Germany) about this problem. I was just ignored by them until the time we´ve decided to organize this site. Best Regards, Marcelo Frota Rio de Janeiro Brazil
