1'st you need to pick the tv, tilt it at a 45 degree angle,lift it avove your head and jump 112 times, once you've completed that plug it back in and punch the side a couple times ..it worked for me...

My sony tv just starting falshing the light and no picture. It trys to turn on then shuts off and the lgith flashing code is 5 times then 3 times and input please.

Sorry to give you bad news... Your tv is STUFFED! :) Those standby light flashes are actually a service code - Indicating a fault by the number of flashes. IF you had included the flash count - I may have been able to give you an indication of what the fault is.. Short story = Take it to a qualified repair shop. Preferably a sony authorised network repairer. TV's carry voltages upward of 25 THOUSAND volts! Even when switched off!
