I am having teh same problem: I am not able to record in my JVC GR-D33AS Digital Video Camera. It gives me: 1. A black Screen when I set for recording in Auto/Manual mode 2. There is a hand symbol (something like a stop sign) on the down left hand corner 3. Even if the Lens cap is removed I get a "Lens Cap" blinking for 3 times and then the message goes away. I am able to Play my previous recording tapes though but am not able to record any new video, the audio gets recorded.
