Sony DCR-DVD201 Disk Error C:13:00

Robi Sutior Posted Dec 25, 2005

I am receiving a Disk Error C:13:00 on my sony dcr-dvd201 video camera. I was taking a picture with this camcorder and it just locked up. When it started working again the error is what I come up with.

The footage of on this disk is of my nephew's second christmas and I don't want to loose this footage. Does anyone know how to retrieve this footage. Thanks

Came across this on another website, haven't tried it yet, hope to soon. Thought it might be of help to someone if they haven't found a solution to their problem yet. C 13:00 error on Sony DVD Player -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have a Sony DVD player you may come across the C 13:00 error. I was surfing the net yesterday and found a way to get into the diagnostics menu which allows you to calibrate the drive among other things. Here is how you do it. If you don't already know Dual layer DVD's have a gold color playing surface and single layer DVD's are silver. Make sure that the player is OFF, but in standby mode. On the remote press the following within a second of each other. Title, Clear, then Power. You'll se a menu with 6 options Test Mode Menu 0. System Diagnosis 1. Drive Auto Adjustment(Calibration) 2. Drive Manual Operation 3. Mecha Aging 4. Emergency History (has total hours of playtime) 5. Version Information 6. Video Level Adjustment Push 1 and the folowing menu will pop up. Drive Auto Adjustment 0. All 1. DVD-SL 2. CD 3. DVD-DL 4. SACD Exit: RETURN Push 1, and it will ask for a single layer disc. Do this first because sometimes the dual layer will keep failing unless you do. Now when done push 3 and insert the Dual layer disk. When done you can exit by turning off the power. Hope this helps someone.

Hi there, did you manage to get a resolution? I too have the same problem and am keen to hear from anyone that might have any ideas! Same Handycam, same problem. Double sided disk though, one side is ok, the other side is giving me this error. Need the data off the disk, as its quite important. Thanks in advance for any help, anyone!
