was there a camcorder before the XM1 similar look, different shape

im wondering if anyone knows if there is was a camcorder similar look but different shape before the XM1 (GL1) camcorder. i saw it once on ebay and i havnt been able to find it since. somebody put me out of my misery with the name of the camcorder. thank you
