Re: JVC AV-48WP30

Eric Posted Jan 09, 2006, in response to:Michael

I have to assume that the On Screen Menu is inop from both the Front Panel and the Remote Control. If such is the case more than likely there are problems with the Micro Controller. The OSD signals originate from there. However if you have additional problems like channel memory, etc the EEPROM could be suspect. There is a switch on the convergence circuit board that will produce the cross hair signal but if the OSD is inop it won't show. My first thought would be to tell you to leave the TV unplugged for a few hours. After plugging it back in the Micro will receive a "Reset" signal which might restore it to default settings. However this might create more problems if your "Initial Setup Screen" is not displayed. Are volume and channel settings displayed when you change such? Eric

I Have Tried leaving the TV unplugged over night, with no success. None of the on screen menu functions are displayed.... volume, channel, imput, etc. Other than the menu's not working, the TV doesn't seem to have any other problems (other than needing to adjust the convergence) ??????????????????????????/
