I've got an 80's NuToneintercom system. Want to replace the intercom with a high quality speaker system w/CD/FM/AM.

We have an 80's NuTone interom system with AM/FM. We no longer use the intercom, and have no plans to. We are interested in using the wiring and existing "infrastructure" and replace with a high or much higher quality music system (CD/AM/FM)for use thruout the home. Any ideas or systems designed for this out there?
