NUTONE IM 3303

Christine Posted Jan 30, 2006

Nutone Im 3303 - Was repeatedly turning itself on and off - so it has been disconnected for three months - now reconnected. Light on but no sound.

Can somebody please help me. I have a home in Florida but live in the UK so trying to get this problem solved is really difficult. My Nutone IM 3303 started playing up last October just before we came home. The off button would not respond - it would, eventually, but not without some hassle by keeping my finger on the button or releasing and pushing again and again. Just after hurricane Wilma my friend found it turning on and off repeatedly and she thinks it may have been doing it for some while as the unit was hot. Her husband disconnected it totally from the electricity supply and Nutone told me, last week, it was indicative of moisture being on one of the speaker units and that moisture on the speaker units can do weird things to the master unit - they can take over control of the system, hence my problem in turning it off. Yesterday my friends reconnected the unit, and as a precaution they used the hair drier on three speaker's - lanai, master bath and kitchen. The 'light is on, but nobody is home' has now occurred. No sound coming from the radio. As the system has been disconnected for three months is there a pin/code that needs to be entered to allow them to get the system to work. Does anybody think there is more to the problem than Nutone suggested? I contacted the people who installed the system but they charge an absolute fortune in call out alone. If anybody thinks it is a solveable problem for me or my friends I would be immensely grateful for any help with this matter. Kind regards, Christine

have you tried completely disconnecting the system and re setting it? ive found that solves most nutone problems as after you disconnect and allow all of the power to drain then reconnect it starts from a fresh restart
