Hey-- I know that this has been up for awhile. The JVC Digital camcorders seem to have a memory ,that just wont let go of problems in them. I had a problem with mine, that just wouldnt go away. I wound up taking the three million screws out and unplugging the internal battery. It is the plug in the front below the lens. It wiped out the problem and now seems to work fine. You will need srew driver for glasses for the screws. Also it helps to run a cleaner tape in it. Try also to blow it out with the tape door openning. I found with mine that it costs more to get them fixed then you pay for them. Anyhow have a good one and good luck. P.S. If you take the screws out .Do it on a nice clean table. The screws are easily dropped.
