Unit shuts down and gives this message...

I have several different Sony products including the VX2100 camcorder and the GV-D1000 mini DV deck. Recently, the camera began shutting off on its own and the LCD displayed this message before it shut down... "For InfoLITHIUM Battery Only". The deck began with the same message this morning and now I have 2 units acting the same! I am not even using a battery with either of these units...I am using the supplied AC adapters! What gives? Does anyone know what's wrong or how I can remedy this problem? Greatly appreciated! Chuck
