How do i play my film if i dont have the camera?

This is a problem my wife and i are gonna face in the very near future, im in the military and she bought me a Samsung Mini DV camcorder for christmas, and im about to deploy. I am taking the camera with me but i dont know if there is a way to avoid spending so much money for a Mini DV player... so when i mail the tapes back home she can view them. And i dont have access to a computer while deployed to convert onto a DVD and mail that.
