SONY DSC N1 - C:13:01 Error

Dropdown Posted Apr 20, 2006

I received an C:13:01 error message, data lost, although you can still see them in the albums

Spoke to Sony; they say it’s the data card that’s corrupt. The chances are all is lost, especially as in my case, the case cannot be 'seen' by a card reader or a computer. Their advice is to go to a data recoverers, fine but why can I still see the images? The camera stores thumbnails on the internal memory, great, actually no. According to Sony this images are un-retrieval, there is no way of getting them. The helpdesk person at Sony implied it was tough luck. I'm livid as with a lot of people these photos are the only record of a once in a life time occasions. Sony has offered to replace the card, but I got the impression that this is a commoner occurrence than they are letting on. The thing that really hurts is that I paid extra for a Sony card to use in a Sony camera - why? Off to find a data recoverers but not holding my breath. If anyone knows of anything I could do please let me know, almost in tears over the lost images...

I had the problem with the cd's, if you can take your card to a procesing machine, ex: like at walmart, they might be able to retrieve your files for you and burn them to a disc, or at least get your photos printed out. Another option-- I know I had to on one of my discs, I purchsed cd roller and this got the information retrieved I needed... Thought it might help you can find cd roller @ www.cdroller.com.
