Problems with Sony DCR-PC9

I hate to admit it, but I saw the "shock treatment" on one of these threads, and took my camera in frustration and slapped it firmly on several sides, and now it's working again. Disconnecting battery, resetting camera, replacing tape didn't work. A good firm whack took care of it for now. Not very scientific, but I've got a working camera.

I ALMOST TOSSED MY CAMERA OVER WINDOW when it got that repeating beep and error codes, I got the solution what made it act dumb like that. 1. eject tape, do not close tape deck.stay it opened 2. remove batteries... to avoid shock... 3. get a cotton buds, moisted with alcohol... no drip please... 4. gently tap the silverbars inside the tape deck and the tape head itself. the tape head is the silver round thing inside the tape deck 5. using ur cotton bud, push the wheel,(rotational control of DV tape) try it.
