Canon Screen Problem and won't turn off

peter rosen Posted May 01, 2006

Like everyone else, one day after the camera worked fine, it shows the canon splash screen and nothing else, in video or chip mode. not only that, it doesn't turn off unless I pull the power! Is it the internal battery?

Yeah, same here. One day it was fine, I was still fiddling with some of the settings and whatnot, and the next day it said 'Canon' and won't get past that. I've tried different batteries, every setting the camera has, taking it into circuit city, etc. I was going to send it in to canon until I read around and found out other people had this problem. Now I think I'm going to return it for a sony.
