Problem with my player

I have a Sony Xplod CDX-R5715X - Radio / CD / MP3 player in my car. It suddenly wont play most of my recordable mp3 CDs that it used to play. As a matter of fact only one of these CDs plays in it. All other CDs give an error message when slotted. Have tried cleaning the lens but no dice. Any help/tip you can give will be appreciated.
