JVC AV32F485 won't turn on

Help with JVC AV32F485

After an electrical storm last night, my JVC AV32F485 won't turn on. I've done the 30min power unplugged cold reboot, but it still doesn't turn of. Also, the green led timer light stays on with the set plugged in. The tv was off at the time of the storm. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Mark... I noticed this was an issue on this message board with other 'older' JVC model TV's XX-980 series tv's (even a Model AV-32770), but would have thought JVC might have had a fix for this on the newer models. Oh well, either way the tv will need to come out of the entertainment center so I might as well take a look inside.

Also check the fuse while you have the back off.

Open the back and locate c926 capatior near the center of the board. It's about half as tall as a AAA battery. Sometimes when they blow the top will bulge slightly. You can get a replacemet at Radio Shack for 1.59. Ask for 35v 1000uF.
