power not working properly

I have a Sony trinitron KV-2064R, when I turned in on with the remote a buzzing sound came out of the speakers. Then nothing. I turned it on with the power button on front of the set. No sound or picture, only the "timer" light comes on so there is power. Any suggestions on how to fix it thanks
