HELP....

I am having trouble with my JVC and I havent used in a couple years because of zooming problems, I purchased it in 2002 and started having problem 1-2 years ago. I know this is far fetched but would you have any ideas on how to get it to work, the button works but nothing happens when you push it up or pull it back, my model is similar to the GRD30, it looks pretty much identical, but mine had more black accents on the camera itself.. thanks:):):
