My Old Sony Trinitron TV Monitor Model CKU-27HX1

Griffonvideo Posted Aug 27, 2006

My tv monitor flashes a black screen intermittently every 5-10 seconds.

I have an older Late 80's professional Sony TV monitor which was working perfectly up until a few day ago when the black screen issued arrived. Now every 5-10 seconds my screen will flash black for a couple of seconds and return to a normal signal. It seems similar to some Macrovision copy protection screens I have seen. This occurs on every video channel and my cable connection. I have removed the devices connected to these video options and the problem does not occur on the video screen. I access the TV's menu and the problem stopped, when I reached the video channels... Does anyone have any advice on this issue. I wouldn't think this would be a Macrovision issue, and its never happened before til now. Would a signal amplifier cure this problem?
