Captured file PLays in stop frame fashion, not Fluid.

My video captured file plays back fine from my Samsung digital camcorder. But when I try to capture the video to my computer via USB, using either thier software Samsung DVC Media 5.1 or Windows Movie Maker the file plays back in a stop frame fashion & not in a fluid seamless motion. I'm using XP home with a 2GHz CPU, & 512MB of RAM. I'm thinking it's a ram issue but I don't know, what do I need to do to get my Video to play correctly?
