can't record

we bought a jvc video camera model # - GR-AXM250U and it worked perfect for a couple of months.....but then all of a sudden every time we would try and record stuff the screen would stay black and now it stays blue. it still works perfect for other stuff but it just won't record. please help us....we have a 6 month old daughter and we would love to be abe to fix this problem for when she starts crawling and walking.
